Didier Tripoz epitomises the small grower culture that is both the great strength and weakness of Burgundy. The rise of the small owner/grower as opposed to the large negociants has had mixed blessings. It needs the dedication and care of someone like Didier to make a relatively small parcel of vineyards work. That said, Domaine bottling has certainly put the emphasis on terroir and vineyard specific wines, rather than anonymous house styles.
